Factory fault

I bought a Hallmark watch set at truworths Wonder park, on the 26th, as a present for myself, for my birthday. To my disappointment the watch doesn't fasten/ close properly. It opens and it might fall and break. Luckily I tried it out sitting down. I took it back today, at truworths Sammy Mark's, they wanted to exchange it, which I was happy, then the lady said I must take it back to the shop I bought it at because it is a factory fault . It is very inconvenient for me as I work in PTA CBD and I was in Wonderpark mall as part of my birthday celebration, I don't normally go there as it is far and expensive for taxi fare. Can I be assisted please without taking it to the shop I bought from? I don't know the name of the lady she was not wearing a name badge.
