Disregard and atrocious service
For the past three days, I’ve been attempting to shop at Truworths in Kempton Square, only to abandon the queue after waiting 30 minutes each time. Today, I endured an hour-long wait just to be served. During this time, I even managed to shop at Identity and Pick n Pay, yet when I returned, I still had to wait another 30 minutes.
The service is utterly unacceptable. Out of three tills, only two were operational—one cashier was on lunch—leaving customers stranded in queues that stretched to the store’s entrance. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told the store has been without one for six months. How is it possible for a store to operate without a manager for half a year?
Truworths is fully aware that the closure of Festival Mall’s branch has increased foot traffic at Kempton Square, yet there are still only three cashiers serving customers. This shows complete disregard for your clientele. Instead of addressing the issue, we are told the store is “cutting costs.” But at whose expense? Certainly not yours—it’s the customers who are paying the price through wasted time and poor service.
What level of neglect must occur before Truworths acknowledges that urgent action is needed? Customers deserve fairness, efficiency, and respect—not endless queues and excuses.
