Disgusted by Truworths in Eastgate mall

I was hoping I don’t get to write this, last Sunday afternoon I visited Truworths Eastgate looking for one Red lipstick by Stilla. As we walked in the was a gentleman at the door ? which was holding a bottle of sanitizer we greeted this gentleman with no response he just took once glance at us, we waited for a patiently for him for about a minute or so to sanitise our our hands which he did not, he did not acknowledge us at all, we proceeded straight to the cosmetics store which we were welcomed with so much much kindness by Mynono, as much as I was not buying this lipstick from her brands she assisted I felt so guilty and touched by her kindness ( which one will call it a customer service) I call it kindness, I then decided to buy this Red lipstick ? on her counter she did not have it in stock. I then bought one lipstick from her not Red then I proceeded buying the one I initially wanted. She then asked us to try the perfume of her colleague I think the brand is Philip Plein not sure, which we did not really however the consultants was kind enough to help us Invictus we took 50ml Mynono stepped in to convince us to buy a 100ml which it made sense, it was a beautiful service from walking in cosmetics to the pay point we were then assisted by the lady that works for Tomford fragrances, beautiful magnificent vibey team work from the 3 ladies. I had come in to buy one lipstick for value of R375 and we ended up spending R2 730 due to their kindness and willingness to work and to sell.

Proceeded to the front door, which the guy with a bottle of Sanitizer searched our bags, the Zara paper bag, and the Truworths paper bag, our bags did not beep at all, so I just did not understand the meaning of this is the guy implying that we stole!!! Why are we being searched I asked him as he was searching our bags again with no response, at this point people who are walking pass are looking us, he asked us for the proof of purchase which I could not find in the bags, he proceeded causing a drama implying that we did not pay the products we both, we then asked the guy to go to cosmetics and ask for our till slip they have a duplicate however I might have forgotten it there hence I don’t see it in my bags, he refused and called someone on the raidio, which the person was wearing a royal blue suit I think it’s the manager, that made things worse calling the mall security/ police to come and arrest while both of them they refuse to go to cosmetics department and ask for our tillslip while standing here we notice people going out and not being searched, the guys names are Tipelus and mootela. And this stage I was so disgusted, embarrassed and yet angry then a guy Raymond from cosmetics he came and he was the at the till point while we were paying still he doesn’t produce the till slip nor confirm to this Royal blue suit guy that indeed we paid for these products, I then took my bags me and my friend we walked out, the Raymond guy that saw me pay at cosmetics he then grab me by the arm pulling me back in, We then said you know what we don’t your products no more we want our money back and you close the account we have with Truworths. Arriving at the cosmetics department returning the products I saw the disappointments in the girls face and they produced the duplicate slip and informed me that I had put my slip in my purse, Siya the cosmetics manager step in to apologize and and, the only reason we decided that we don’t return the products it’s because of the excellent customer service we got from Mynono, the 2 fragrance consultants ladies which I did nt get their names.

After they saw the slip there was no apologies from these guy who were accusing us of *****ing even more disgusted from the guy in Blue suit who called police / mall security without even confirming our proof of payment and the Raymond guy is a no good nothing because he saw us pay he was standing there in cosmetics the whole time. And the cosmetics was not even busy we were the only customers in cosmetics. I am so disgusted with the treatment we got at Truworths East gate mall, I will not be shopping there ever again, my friends will not and my family will not. They only searched us, none of the customers that were leaving the store got searched. What is this all about a Black on Black hate! I normally use my account at Truworths Sandton and at Loads of Living in Sandton. I have never been ill treated like that!
