Disgusted

Early in June 2015 i purchased a dress for my daughter for Eid, On Saturday 18 July 2015 she wore the dress for the first time as Eid was on Saturday and to my surprise the evening when she undressed her, the material of the dress was full rips (scuffed), i then said to may daughter i was going to take the dress back as i refuse to pay for a dress that cost me R500 to look they way it did after wearing it only once. I went to Truworths N1 City explained the story to the manager and she advised that they need to send the dress away to their head office and only once they have checked the dress, will they decide whether it will be credited or not. I find this totally unacceptable that a retail store charges such alot of money for their clothing and after wearing it just ONCE the item is damaged and then they have the nerve to tell me they will have to inspect it before they can credit the item, i work hard for my money and R500 does not grow on trees, that is total disgusting to say the least that they can gladly charge such amounts for goods but when u return their damaged goods, this is what they tell you as if you had purposely damaged the goods. Totally unacceptable.....

Hello sdiedericks,

Thank you for raising your concerns with us. We value your feedback and would like to apologize for the disappointing experience you have had with quality of one of our garments.

Quality is a key focus for Truworths, we do however realise that some quality inconsistencies could occur occasionally and therefore we have developed a Returns Policy that allows for an exchange or refund on items presenting with manufacturing faults, provided all the requirements of this policy are met.

When merchandise presents with a potential quality issue, our process is to assess the item at store level. If the Manager is unable to make a technical decision, the item is sent to our Head Office to be evaluated by our team of Quality Assessors.

We confirm that this was done following your visit to the store. We have liaised with the Store Manager of our store mentioned in your post and she is committed to providing you with feedback once our Quality Assurance department has provided the outcome of the assessment.

We trust that we were able to adequately and attend to your concerns and hope that you will be able to perceive and understand our stance in this regard.

Kind regards,

Lynn
