Day light *******

On 26 October 2015 I bought a top worth R360 at this store for my daughter. She fitted it and it was not the right size. I then placed it in the car boot so that I can exchange/ return it whenever I get a chance to pass by the store. Today I passed by the store and there was no longer stock so I requested for a refund. The sales assistant proceeded with the transaction and called the Supervisor (Linda) to authorise and the Supervisor told me that they could not take the top back. I asked her for a reason and she indicated that she can not take it back as the sale was already made, it is no longer on the floor and it is not saleable. I asked her again if the reason is that it is not saleable or no longer on the floor or she is reluctant to return a sale . She kept quiet and told the sales assistant to abort the refund and I should just take it. What am I supposed to do with an item that does not fit and why did they start the transaction if it was really not saleable. Is this a way of Store Managers to meet the sales target and rob us customers of our hard earned monies? If that is how you operate then stop recruiting me for your account.

Hello suemod,

Thank you for your post and allowing us the opportunity to respond.

We were truly concerned to read about your experience as customers are allowed to return or exchange garments within 30 days from the date of purchase provided that the garment has not been worn or used, still has all the tags attached and the original proof of purchase or gift receipt is presented.

We therefore escalated your concerns to the relevant Store Manager. We were informed that on the day of your return the garment had not been in its original condition and therefore your request for an exchange on the garment was declined by her.

As you are not happy with this decision your concerns have been escalated to the relevant Area Manager, who will provide you with feedback by tomorrow.

Kind regards,

Lynn
