Damaged cellphone problem unresolved
I bought a phone on 05/01/15. Alcatel idol mini. In August it fell and broke the screen.i went back to the store on the 21 of august to ask them to repair and I will pay since I know it is not covered on my warranty. The same consultant lesego who sold the phone to me told me there is no way she can help me and can't take it to repair either because I did not insure it. I told her I don't mind paying. I also told her that she never told me about insurance and she said the reason she didn't tell me is that customers reject insurance all that time so that why she never bothered to tell me.So now I ask her why does she has to make her problem mine because now this phone is new and I need to use it and she was wrong about not telling me about insurence cause now I'm stuck with a phone that I paid for and now it can't be fixed,so I ask if I should throw it away then she said she will not take the phone and I should see what I should do with it.So the service I got from her was pathetic. She was rude and unhelpful and it makes me angry because she even have attitude and disrespect customers.I have been using truworths for a long time but now with people like that in the store .I'm sorry.
Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to respond.
We acknowledge your frustration regarding your recent experience at our store. The service described in your post is truly unacceptable and we have therefore raised your concerns with the relevant Store Manager.
We were informed that she is not aware of the incident and have discussed this matter with the consultant mentioned in your post. Whilst the consultant denies the allegations made by you against her, she has apologized for the manner in which you felt you were assisted on the day of your visit.
The Store Manager has made numerous attempts to contact you in this regard, but was regretfully unsuccessful in her attempts.
We wish to advise that customers have the option of sending handsets not covered under MTN or the Manufacturer's Warranty terms, for a quotation for the cost of repairs. There are however service charges applicable which would apply even if the quotation is rejected.
We trust that we were able to adequately respond to your query and that we will be able to satisfactorily resolve this matter upon receipt of your reply.
Kind regards,
Lynn
