Customer service non existing

I bought a Uzzi shirt in February at Tygervalley branch. My son tried it on at home and discovered that it was torn. It took me a while to return it, which I eventually did today at the Cape Gate branch. The cashier went to the manager and came back to tell me it can't be credited. I said this is unacceptable and she went back to the manager. The manager eventually returned with the cashier and tells me that their people would have seen when I made the purchase that it was torn. I never saw anyone ringing up my things goes through each garment to look for defects. In a nutshell she did not believe me and was worried about her store's lost should she accommodate my request. I spend a lot of money and what happened to keeping a happy client? My query would be looked at she says and evaluated. This is not good enough. I worked for this company before and I know there is something like manager's discretion.

Hello Lizpow,

Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to respond.

At Truworths, we continuously strive to offer the latest internationally inspired quality merchandise to all our customers. We have a devoted team of quality technologists who constantly conduct rigorous inspections to make certain that the merchandise included in our range offerings meets our high standards.

Our Store Manager and Area Manager has assessed the garment that you presented for return and their findings were that the damage was not as a result of a manufacturing fault and therefore the decision was made to decline your request for a credit. As you were not happy with this decision, the garment will be sent to our Head Office to be assessed by our team of Quality Assessors.

Our customers are our number one priority and although we realise that you are not happy with this decision, we hope that you will understand that the correct procedure has been app****.

Please contact us on *** or e-mail: *** if you have any further queries or concerns.

Kind regards,

Lynn
