Customer service
On the 1st of May 2016 I wanted to use one of my Truworths vouchers. I was told by the attendant at Truworths La Lucia that I could not use the voucher as it we were not within the date. I said okay and proceeded to pay trusting she was right. Once I got home I had another look at the voucher and saw that I was still within the date to use the voucher. On the 2nd of May 2016 I returned to Truworths La Lucia to rightfully redeem my voucher. I had taken my account card, my ID, the till slip and the voucher. I was then told that I need to bring my items in so that they can scan the items. I refused. All the codes needed are on the slip and all items I bought where in the shop. Why should I waste my petrol when everything is already in the store. Eventually they agreed to use items that where in the store. A rude woman with no customer service skills by the name of Farana then insisted that the items I had purchased must have been on sale and that's why my voucher wasn't valid. She kept on insisting that it was sale items even after I told her I was told the voucher was not valid because of the dates. Once I had proved to her none of the items where on sale she disappeared. The whole time she dealt with us she was very insistant and made us feel like we where in the wrong and we knew nothing. All in all Farana was a very unpleasant person to deal with. A young lady by the name of Nokuphiwa Phiwe Ntuli came to the rescue and was an absolute super star! She was friendly and did not once make us feel like we were in the wrong. She tried her very best to sort out our problem. She called head office numerous times and every time she got off the phone she told us what they had said and explained everything to us as she went along. She is really an asset to your Truworths La Lucia branch. Employee of the month! Well done Nokuphiwe and thank you to the other two young ladies that helped her as well ( didn't get their names). Customer service is a very important thing and having staff that think they are better than the customer is not going to get you very far.
