CONFUSED SERVICE DELIVERY

On Saturday 4 February I went to Truworths Promenade branch Mitchells Plain to close my account after being embarrassed at The Blue Route branch. My was account was overpaid by R153.83 and the cashier said I will get a refund. She then called 'head office' which took nearly 20 minutes to eventually answer her call. The person on the other end I was on debt review therefore I cannot get MY MONEY back untill I can prove I am no longer on debt review. I told the cashier I exited debt review i March 2016 already. Further to this I continued to purchse from Truworths all the debt review period 2 ********** with no problems. Suddenly one day at Blue Route they would not finish my purchase as they only now discovered I am/was under debt review. It took them more than 3 years to discover this!

I have always paid Truworths myself from MY bank account and not the NPDA or any other agency. So why on earth must I now prove I am no longer under debt review to get MY OWN HARD EARNED money back. It was paid directly via EFT every month from my bank account. I want MY MONEY back without delay.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist.

We have reviewed your account and established that your account was placed under debt review in March of 2013 which was terminated in September of that year.

In November 2016 the debt review status was reinstated resulting in you being unable to make purchases on your account. We liaised with our Legal Department in this regard who has verified that a cancellation letter would be required for the closure of the account. This being said, the refund of the credit amount on your account, has been authorized.

We apologize for your experience in this regard and hope to see you in our stores again soon.

Kind regards,

Truworths Online Team
