Chiffon bought with a chip

I bought a size 32 milk chiffon knit wear at Trueworths Bushbuckridge. When I returned it for the correct size the manager of the shop ill treated me by calling customers to sniff out the perfume on it. He eventually spotted a very small chip on the chiffon which was hardly visible and accused me for damaging the blouse. When I bought it I was assisted by one of the ladies who works in that shop and apparently she did not notice that the chiffon had a small chip. They took the chiffon and put it in the shop for the Area Manager's decision. When he came they decided that I must pay for the damages by including the money in my account. I'm deeply worried bout their decision because the damage was not caused by me and I feel they have ill treated me.

Hello DWARSLOOP,

Thank you for your post.

We were concerned to read about your experience and therefore immediately contacted the Manager of the store mentioned in your post.

We were informed that on the day of your visit the manager assessed the garment in question. During the assessment he noticed that the garment was not in a condition to be sold to another customer as the swing tag was removed and it was sprayed with perfume. The Store Manager says that he merely asked you if you agree that it was sprayed with perfume and he denies the allegations made against him.

As you were still not happy with this decision, the manager escalated this matter to the Area Manager and his finding was that the return as it did not fully comply with our returns policy.

We regret that you are still unhappy with this decision, however trust that you will be able to perceive and accept our stance in this regard.

Kind regards,

Lynn
