Chanel De Bleu PARFUM Variant scent not lasting
My wife took me to Truworths at Gateway in December to pick out a perfume for a Christmas gift for myself.
We were helped by one of their friendly consultants at the store. At first i wanted to go with my tried and trusted Chanel De Bleu EDP but the consultant steered me to choose the more expensive PARFUM variant of the perfume. Selling me on the point that the PARFUM variant was stronger and lasted longer than the EDP variant. So she bought that for me.
Because of Covid restrictions we restricted our movements so i didn't get a chance to use my new perfume. Until last weekend. I was invited for a wedding, one that I could not not attend. So I put on my new perfume and left home. I sprayed some on myself and some on my coat.
While driving I couldn’t even smell it on me. I could smell my wife’s perfume but not mine. Neither could she smell my perfume. The perfume didn't even last 30 mins on me. This was Saturday 26/06/21.
So the next day, Sunday 27/06/21, i went to the store where I purchased the perfume and walked up to the Chanel counter and enquired about the Chanel De Blue. Again the sales person was leading me toward the PARFUM variant. I explained that i was unhappy with the perfume and that it did not last as i was advised it would. He told me that other customers had also complained about the same perfume as well.
He called another sales person and I explained my dissatisfaction to him and told me that i should bring it in on either Wednesday(30/06/21) or Thursday(01/07/21) as he would be there and he knew my story. He also explained that they would test the perfume before they do anything.
So i went back to the store today 30/06/21, i went to the sales person that asked me to come in and he inspected the perfume then said that he needed to speak to his manager Krishnan. The sales person came back after a few minutes and explained to me that the manager said that,“because it was purchased in December they can not help me. Maybe if it was 3 months or so they would have helped me”.
No “testing” was done at all.
I only used the perfume once cos i don’t go out as much as id like to because of Covid restrictions. Had there been no restrictions in place i would have opened and use the perfume a long time ago and maybe then i would have been helped.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but according to the CPA, i have 6 months to return goods that I'm not satisfied with.
Im really disappointed with the level of service that i received at the store. It wasn’t a cheap perfume that was purchased, it cost R2665. I feel cheated to have been sold a perfume that doesn’t even last as your sales people say it does. R2665 is a lot to waste on lie.
