Beware of Truworths stores selling defective goods
I purchased a hallmark watch, ear ring and necklace gift set from a Truworths store which was supposed to be for a wedding gift. The item was found to be defective which is very embarrassing to hand over as a gift and when I took it back to the Truworths store as it was in a brand new unused condition I was informed that the item needs to go in for repairs. Shocking that the item was allegedly new and the salesperson just took it off the display cabinet to sell it to me, the customer, without checking the item and neither could I see the item as it was packaged and went straight to the cashier for payment. It is even more embarrassing to give someone a repaired item as a gift and to top it off, a month has passed and I was unable to provide a gift as I have not gotten any feedback from the store about the watch!!! How many more customers are being put in this situation where customers pay Truworths for defective goods and are left in the dark. Pathetic coming from a giant chain store like Truworths!!! I am starting to wonder why I even shop at Truworths

When a watch is returned as a result of it not being operational, it must be assessed to determine the source of the problem. We have investigated your complaint, and as such, liaised with the store in question. We were informed that the watch was sent to the supplier for assessment, and has subsequently been returned to the store in a working condition.
