BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Sunday i went to collect my parcel at Truworths mall@Reds. i was with my two daughters. as i enter the store there was no one at the entrance to disinfect us but i took it upon myself to do so, i sprayed my daughters first and last it was me. however from a distance the cashier was watching us. the male cashier asked me to sanitise me before he could proceed with the transaction as he saw me sanitisng my daughters only not me. i vehemently denied as he is accusing me of something i did'nt do. why cant he go back to the camerasto validate what he didnt see? HOW ON EARTH CAN I PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE TO MY KIDS AND NOT DO SO ON ME...I WILL BE PUTTING THE WHOLE FAMILY AT RISK JUST BY TOUCH THE SPRAY AT SHOP. WORSE HE DID NOT EVEN SANITIZE THE SURFACE NOR HIMSELF BEFORE ASSISTING ME. HE DID NOT EVEN APOLOGISE INSTEAD HE ASKED ME IF I STILL WANT TO PROCEED WITH THE TRANSACTION OR LEAVE THE STORE. i found that being so insulting and undermining my morals and ethics. what would i be teaching my kids if i don't sanitaze and do so to them only?

We wish to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We acknowledge your frustration and immediately escalated your concerns to the relevant Executive Management and COVID compliance team.

We wish to advise that the strict protocols implemented by Truworths are in accordance with all the relevant legislation and guidelines as issued by Government. The Regulations and Directions require us to provide hand sanitizer with a 70% alcohol content for the use of customers and staff entering our stores. As we cannot ensure that a customer’s sanitizer meets this requirement, we require all customers to use our in-store sanitizers as we have the relevant documentation from our approved suppliers, which confirms that it meets such requirements.

Truworths has ensured its strict adherence to these requirements and implemented extensive protocols that ensure the safety of both our customers and staff when in our stores. We, therefore, confirm that you were correctly advised the day of your visit. However, we wish to apologize for how you felt the Management attended to you on the day and hope that we can meet or exceed your expectations on your next visit.

Kind regards,

Truworths Online Team
