How can they allow this?

<br> I'm in shock and close to tears. How can Tripadvisor allow this to happen? I searched for a hotel for a July holiday on the Tripadvisor site and then went ahead to reserve the room via the [URL Removed] service that pops up. I entered my credit card details to confirm the booking - no way did I expect they will deduct the full amount from my credit card immediately. Who pays in full for a Holiday 9 months ahead? It asked to confirm booking, it didn't ask me if I want to PAY! I'm used to booking on [URL Removed] - it asks your payment details, but do not make you pay at the point of reservation. The establishment then contacts you if they need you to pay a deposit which I'm totally prepared to pay - a deposit to secure the reservation. When I realised they made me pay the total amount in the blink of an eye, I immediately cancelled the booking and got the message that they will refund me in 30 days and the money may only reflect back in my account after that. They earn interest while I pay an enormous amount of interest on money I was certainly not planning to spend now and just before Christmas as well. It's very ********* and I'm extremely upset. It's just not fair.
