Worst service ever

We were booked on a BA flight that was cancelled due to comair not operating, this happened a week before my scheduled flight. I have been calling travel start for the past week and no-one is being helpful! It takes forever to speak to an agent and when you do the agent is not helpful. It's now 2 days before I am scheduled to fly and I still don't know what flight I am on. For the past week, I have been given conflicting information by all agents and each one of them says an email will be sent. 4 days later no email has been received. One agent told me if there is no suitable alternative for the BA flight I don't get a refund even though it was an SAA issued ticket.

I don't know if anyone will read this but please contact me so that I can know when I will travel.

Hi Melissa,

Called BA and they cannot make the change as they said it's an SAA flight. I called SAA and they said it's not their ticket and that travel start can issue a new flight without SAA approval. Please may you call me

Hi Melissa, it's been over 2 hours since out last chat. You mentioned that your colleague would chat to his superior and call me within an hour after our chat. At the time of writing this he has not called me as promised. The last week has been quite frustrating as Travelstart has been sending me back and worth. The whole week Travel start was saying my ticket was an SAA issued ticket and that SAA had to approve schedule changes. We were assured by your colleagues that we would be accommodated on a flight to Joburg and make our connecting flight. Initially we were told there was a 6am SAA flight on Sat that we could catch, but that ended up being sold out as we were waiting for SAA to approve the flight change. We were then presented with a direct flight to our destination for Friday 10 June and we called to say that did not work as we would be at work. Your colleagues then said there is a Sat direct flight so they will arrange for us to be booked on that one. I then called to get an update of the approval and the lady I spoke to said that we had an SAA ticket and that we could not be booked on airlink as it is two different airlines. I was confused because we were offered an airlink direct flight but now it was no longer possible. The lady went on to explain that I could ask for a refund, but if I did that SAA will not refund me for the BA flight and would just re issue a new ticket with my connecting flight. I did not want to pay more money for another flight so I waited for your team to arrange a new flight to Joburg. We then spoke about us being on the SAA evening flight to Joburg on Friday 10 June and we would sleep in Joburg at our own cost. There were still seats on that flight and she said she would ask for that flight or another appropriate one. I saw that there was an SAA flight that was landing in Joburg at 9.40am on Sat 11 June, and I was told that was not an option as it is too close to my connecting flights take off time. During this period my husband called SAA who said they could not help us as Travel start had to deal with the issue. Fast forward to today. You have been responsive and helpful. Calling me as promised. You mentioned that travel start could not assist as it was an SAA ticket and SAA said BA should make the changes. You did try call BA but they needed me to call. I did call BA and they did their best to try accommodate me but towards the end they realised it was an SAA ticket and SAA was the one to make the change. At the time when I was chatting to BA I could see there was a flysafair flight that we could take on Sat morning to make it in time for our connecting flight. I then called SAA and spoke to Duduzile who was adamant that my ticket is not theirs and she mentioned that travel start is the one to issue a new ticket and they did not need SAA approval. I then spoke to you and we were back to square one. You did mention that the best solution would be to book a new flight to Joburg and I get a refund. Post that you did say your colleague would be in touch. I have now checked and all the possible flights to Joburg that I could have booked to make my connecting flight are all sold out. I now have no flight option to get to Joburg and make my connecting flight.. I have been waiting for feedback for a week and I honestly dont know if you guys can resolve this. Its been one broken promise after the other. I was now forced to buy an airlink flight to my destination before those seats are sold out. I was scared they would go in a similar manner to all the other flights I saw disappear as I waited for Travel start. Please may you call me yo discuss the way forward for a refund.

Hi there, I have not heard from any of you since my last message. I called the refund team to request a refund and I just got an email to say I will be penalised for canceling the flight. I did not cancel the flight, I was left with no choice bit to find alternative transport . Please can someone call me for us to resolve this issue.
