UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE TRAVELSTART

1. Booked 8:00 am flight (SAA)from Cape Town to East London for 25 july 2015 with Travelstart for my dad on the 23 july 2015 and paid immediately
2. Received email confirmation with flight itinery, departure 8:00am arrival 9:45am
3. At airport was told booking was never made for that time, that it had been booked for 5 o'clock.
4. Was made to pay additional amount for dad to be placed on 8:00am flight.
5. REP**** to email travelstart sent of flight itinerary and they could not trace it.
6. Travelstart then claimed they had booked me for 13:00 flight and could not send me confirmation because i filled in my email address wrongly.
7. I informed them I had rep**** to the first email they sent me, so how where they able to send me the first flight itinery with the 8:00 booking.
8. Travelstart insist i booked for 13:00 not 8:00 am as was stated on itinery they sent me.
9. They only then sent the supposed 13:00 booking to me a week later, after my dad had already left.
10. They keep insisting they did not have my correct email address meanwhile they sent me the first itenery which I then responded to!
11. I have the email the sent as proof, yet they keep denying!!!

Hello Mihindou,

Thank you for your feedback.

As explained in our email correspondence, the booking details you sent me was for a booking made on the flysaa.com website approximately 30 minutes before the booking made on the Travelstart website. I was able to retrieve the booking made through Travelstart using the passenger name as the email address on that booking was entered incorrectly when the booking was done online. I sent the booking confirmation email to you, using the correct email address, to indicate the booking done through us.

Our refunds team checked whether the booking made via Travelstart could be refunded, however, this ticket had been used by the airline towards the purchase of another ticket. This therefore means that the ticket is not refundable.

I also copied the airline into our communications to check whether they could investigate and refund the booking done on their website. I am still waiting for their feedback.

Please be assured that as soon as I hear back from them that I will revert back to you.

Kind regards,
