Travelstart - Left out my surname - Cost me my flight.

I booked a ticket via Travelstart for a direct flight Cape Town to PE. E-ticket was confirm with passenger name "Mr Llewellyn DeKock Llewellyndksolvemcoza". These names are my firstname, surname and email address without the "@". None of these are unfami**** to me. For extra risk mitigation I engaged and paid for their service to check me in. the checked in ticket had the passenger name as "LLEWELLYNDKSOLVEMCOZA/LLEWELLYN MR" all these are completely fami**** to me and no red flags raised in my mind. However at check in BA check in clerks refused to accept the ticket even though the seat was available. I presented evidence that my return ticket for later that day issued by same company was correct. Also showed them evidence that the email address was mine and the evidence of the emailed ticket. I was not allowed on the flight on account of an minor error from Travelstart and now I am refused a refund. In fact I had to buy a new tick to fly out 3 hours later else I would have lost my return flight as well.

It is frustrating that Travelstart is not willing to talk to me. They are only sending me no reply email response.

I have a registered login account with Travelstart. I have travelled with them many times. How could they not cross check and issue the ticket correctly.

Hi Llewellyn,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Please note that I have checked the booking and can see that we have been in contact with you and advised that the airline has informed us that the original ticket which had been booked with the incorrect name when it was created online by the person that made the booking was used and travelled on.

Please advise if this is incorrect and send an email to feedback @ travelstart . com for further investigation.

Kind Regards,
Melissa Eksteen

Hi, Thank you for responding. I have sent an email now to your email address supp**** above. I have attached a copy of the unused ticket. I was refused entry on the flight. I was forced to buy a new ticket on flight FA-130 that flew out at 12h00 to PE. What was most frustrating was that the BA supervisor had no interest at reviewing any of the evidence I presented to substantiate that the ticket was legitimately issued to me. She even refused my access to her superior. BA has a case to answer.
