Travelstart is **** agency and ********* reaping people of their money
I booked a flight on the 25th of March around 9:30pm from Johannessburg to Durban for my family to go celebrate my 4year old daughter’s birthday. The online booking I searched for showed dates from 14th from Johannessburg to Durban and return 18th to Johannessburg from Durban. I booked that flight with travelstart, and Saturday morning I received a confirmation with totally different routes but correct dates. The confirmation was showing a flight from Durban to Johannessburg on the 14th and return from Johannessburg to Durban on the 18th, I called travelstart to try and rectify that but their office was closed, I therefore sent an email same day on Saturday, I only got a reply on Sunday, which stated that to amend the route I will need to pay almost the same amount of the already paid flight which was R4990.00 on top of R5916.00 already paid for the booking. I rep**** to explain that a mistake was not on my side and that their online dates are misleading. On Monday after not getting a response, I called travelstart again, after explaining to the person assisting, she made me wait for almost 30minutes until I was cut off. I called back again after 30 minutes, I was rudely told that a query was registered, however I would still need to pay pay extra R4990.00 for my ticket to be amended. I opted to cancel the ticket instead, hoping I will get my refund, to my shock , I got a reply this morning the 29th stating I will be refunded R298.00 from the R5916.00 already paid. This is a sad day light ******* from this agency, and they are not bothered. I will not recommend any to use their services, we are reaped of our hard earned money after struggling with COVID 19 crisis and some of us are financially struggling.

I have checked the booking and can see that the booking was created the evening of 25 March which was a Friday. On 26 March in the evening which is the Saturday we received a request to amend the direction of the booking which we only picked up on 26 March before 9am as the team had already completed their shift on the Saturday when you sent the request for assistance.
Please Note that the quotes for the changes are as per the airline regulations and we are unable to waiver the difference in fare and taxes as this would have been app**** on the same day a booking was made. I have checked the backend system to see the initial request and the tickets were booked as requested initially. Prior to the search conducted for 14 April -18 April there would have been a search done on your system for the routing as booked now and the history stored this information. When searching again or refreshing it would revert to the last google and Travelstart history on the booking.
Please note that you are required to change the date or cancel or take a suspension on the booking and I have requested that the team send you an email with the options available to you.

Yesterday shortly after your response,i received an email as per your reply. The 1st option has not been amended, we are expected to pay R9550.00 to amend the dates and option 2 is not clear, it states we can postpone until end July “ what are the terms “? Do we postpone and the dates will be changed with the already paid amount? I am still waiting for a reply to my email.
Option 3 is totally out, a refund of R298 p/p from R5618.00 a loss of R4462.00. Option 1 and 3 will eat on our pocket, how is it possible for a ticket to move from R5618.00 for 4 and add R9950.00 twice the amount extra just to amend dates. What happened to 24hrs ticket amendment policy? I quickly alerted the agency on the tickets discrepancy and I did that within 24 hours, a reply came after from Travelstart, does that have to affect me now?
