Travelstart Flight tickets

Good Day. I do refer to tickets ZA***. I booked in good faith via Travelstart flights for my guests via Travelstart. The 1st flight Johannesburg to Kasane, flight SA8306 operated by Airlink and the other Air Botswana BP211. I have tried in vain for a re-issue of these tickets. Since the problems with SAA they could not assist. I do have all our chat transcripts downloaded for information purposes. II moved their Botswana to September 2021 but also made changes to the itinerary due to other circumstances. On Thursday, 2 march 2021, idid contact them again and asked whether they can change the flight itineraries to JNB-MAUN on 10 September and Kasane to JNB on 21 September. They rep**** with the following 'According to the latest information from SAA, International flights are banned until at least 31 Oct 2021. So the above dates would not be possible'. According to my knowledge SAA will be operational from 1 may onwards. When i asked them why i can book Airlink they rep**** with the following: Airlink is flying the flight, but the ticket is still on SAA ticket. we may not rebook an airline that is not operating. If the tickets were issued on Airlink tickets, the changes would be allowed' What can you do to help me?

Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out and providing us with your booking reference number.

We have received the following directives from the airline:

South African Airways (SAA) advises all customers that all its normal commercial flights across its International network will remain suspended until 30 October 2021. This is due among other reasons, to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the aviation industry. Customers are advised to note the following:

International flights will be suspended up to and including 30 October 2021.
Bookings from 31 October 2021 onwards will remain in place for now.
Existing codeshare relationship with Mango is still in place and maintained.

Airlink advises that it has reached agreement with South African Airways in business rescue (SAA) for the re-accommodation of SAA tickets issued after 6 December 2019 for travel on Airlink flights. In terms of the agreement, Airlink will re-issue and re-accommodate SAA (083) tickets issued on Airlink SA8 flights on Airlink (749) tickets for travel on future Airlink 4Z flights.

Looking at your booking the flights were booked: 17:36:49 Mon, 18 Nov 19 as your flights were booked before the 6 December 2019 I'm afraid the above directives from Airlink would not apply to your booking.

I'm afraid the airline will not allow us to re-book. As the airline sits with the funds of the ticket we are governed by all airline policies and need to adhere to the directives the airline provides us.

We have contacted you twice on the number provided. You are welcome to email feedback @ travelstart . com  Should you have any further questions and we will revert with feedback.

Kind Regards
