Travelstart don’t give a sh*t...

My husband and I booked flights fromJhb-Hanoi and HCMC-Cape town with Emirates via travelstart in April 2019. Around September we did enquiries about possibly changing/cancelling to move the flights to March as we wanted to travel with friends. After a bit of back and forth and non cancellation of the December flights, as well as me requesting an email to confirm the flights had not been cancelled, we arrived at the airport on our set Departure date of 25 December 2019, only to find we had active tickets but no itinerary on Emirates side. Vincent from Emirates helped us call travelstart to find out what was going on, and we were given a run around of dropped calls, being placed on hold, non return of promised calls and zero solutions from *********** advisors for the full two hours we had left to check in. With no solution to offer us for our return leg of the flight, no alternative airlines offered, only earlier return dates or later dates that wouldn’t suit our work schedules, we ultimately missed our flights. Only then, were we assisted by the manager on duty, Tracy. We were standing right at the check in counter with Vincent offering to place us on better seats on his outbound flight so we could board the flight. Travelstart is a complete **** as they us tried to push back the time on our check in as they didn’t want to pay the fare difference to our now better seat offering from Emirates. Only after we had missed the flight, offered unsatisfactory return dates, my husband then asked the manager Tracy if there were no other airlines to return on, was then an alternative return on Qatar offered. Why was this solution not offered whilst we were waiting to check in originally?? Why was everything prolonged until we ultimately missed our flights?? No accommodations were offered for the inconvenience as we now had to spend an extra night in JHB at our own expense as we are from Cape Town. Not to mention the fact that we lost a whole planned day in Hanoi. Mostly it was the outrageous inconvenience and blatant lies told to us by Travelstart about no alternative to offer for our return leg from Vietnam. I will never ever recommend anyone to use travelstart as they are just out to make sure they don’t have to pay for their mistakes, with zero regard for inconvenience and major stress caused to the very people who keep their business alive.
