Travelstart committing *****
Absolutely appalled. We had a flight to Mauritius booked through travel start for April. Once lock down was placed we decided to cancel only to find the airlines had already cancelled. Thankfully we paid the bit extra and added the cancellation order on. Trying to cancel and get our money back travelstart are now not coming to the party and have rather offered a 20% cancellation amount (for a family of 7 traveling, 20% is NOTHING). Or they’ve offered a coupon valid for a year and we all know that travel will be limited for a while AND we have pensioners traveling so this is already a big problem. They’ve gone back on their word, they’ve been awful to get a hold of and they’ve committed *****. We demand our money back.

In response to your query, we would like to mention that each airline has their own policy regarding refunds, vouchers, re-booking, waivers etc. As Travelstart acts as an Agent for the airline it is bound by the rules as dictated by the airline and is not able to overrule them.
We have checked your booking and see that your booking was made and tickets issued on the 14th January 2020.
We have also checked the Air Mauritius website and the information they provide on their website also states the following:
For tickets issued up to 31 March 2020:
Passengers who opt for a monetary refund instead, will be charged an amount under the cancellation rules as specified.
We do understand that this is frustrating, but unfortunately this is out of our control (as the agent) and we do apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
The Travelstart Team
