Travelstart Car Hire Shambles - PE Airport
I Booked a holiday to PE for my family and I with travelstart. The flight went fine, but on arrival at PE airport the following was encountered at the car hire company (Woodford Green):<br> 1) The booked car was not available<br> 2) The outstanding bill on the booking confirmation was not aligned with the amount the car hire company wanted to charge, they wanted to charge me more<br> 3) The company could only provide me with a smaller car<br> 4) Even though I had already paid an amount to Travelstart to secure the car booking, the car hire company said they had no record of that payment and hence did not have to honour any booking conditions I had made saying \ You made the booking with a third party and we have record of it".<br> 5)Paid the full amount for a smaller car than I had booked"

I do regret to hear of the issues you have encountered and therefore followed up with Woodford directly.
They advised that unfortunately the car type booked was not available at time of collection due to late returns. They therefore provided an alternative vehicle until they are able to provide the requested type of vehicle.
They also advised that the outstanding amount as indicated on the voucher you received from Travelstart was the amount charged plus the additional R30.05 contract fee. The excess amount that was pre-authorised on your card was less than the amount stated on the voucher.
They assured me that they had your booking, however, due to the late arrivals were not able to provide the booked vehicle type. According to them, they spoke to you again last night and are expecting to replace the vehicle today.
The final invoice from them on completion of the rental will be adjusted accordingly to take into consideration the number of days a smaller vehicle was in use.
