Travelstart Booking mess up led to me missing my flight
I had initially booked with travelstart for my trip to Sydney from Jnb, travelstart booked me with Qatar airways first, then last minute made an option to fly with Qantas and gave an option to confirm the Qantas flight, which I did. Day of flying, I get to the check in counters at Qantas OR tambo international, only to be informed that the booking was made but it was not confirmed by the travel agency. I missed my flight because of the incompetence of Travelstart. Everyone knows how difficult it is to reach anyone from the agency. My booking number was ZA***4 . I need to leave urgently!

Thanks for voicing your concerns and I do apologise for any inconvenience and frustration caused for your flight schedule change.
We try our best to make travel simple and ensure that our customers are satisfied.
With our industry there are various factors that may affect flight time changes, which the airlines & travel agent have no control over. This could be weather related, international airspace agreements, statistical data, technical issues, Covid etc
Airlines therefore cannot guarantee their timetables.
The first two flights are with Qatar as you are flying via Doha and your 3rd flight is with Qantas.
There has been no change to the airline. The first 2 flights are still with Qatar and the connecting internal flight Melbourne - Sydney is with Qantas.
Regarding the schedule change our team have been in contact with you via email today and you have responded via the online contact form - which is the correct procedure to follow - and they will respond.
Kind note they are only able to assist with options of the Qatar flights as Qantas worked on your booking for the 3rd flight / exchanging the ticket. They have advised you would need to contact Qantas direct for this.
Please keep checking your emails and our Schedule Changes team will be in contact today.
Kind Regards,
Marcelle
