Terrible Communication - Just so bad!
What a major disappointment after getting such a good price. We booked our flight on the 9th of February to fly on the 17th of March. We got a pretty good deal on a direct flight from Johannesburg to Walvis Bay. All was wonderful until I wanted to do my online check in on the 16th of March (THE DAY BEFORE OUR FLIGHT). I went onto Air Namibia to do my online check in and it gave an error stating the flight has been cancelled. I frantically called my fiancee and sent so many emails to both Air Namibia and Travelstart. My fiancee called Travelstart and they just basically said that oh by the way your flight was cancelled and we could find you other flights if you would like us to. So after a very long while we eventually got an email saying they can give us a layover flight and that it was Air Namibia's fault and blah blah. We accepted because we had many plans and booked appointments already even though we still had to cancel some plans due to the time changes. Air Namibia got back to me stating that ALL agencies were notified about the cancelled flights on the 16th of February already and that it was truly handled as graciously as possible by the airline. About an hour after I had sent a very angry email to Travelstart I received a call from a manager who said she takes responsibility for not forwarding the email to the right server or whatever technical problem they could come up with in the last 3 hours and that was it. I was tired of hearing lame excuses so I decided to sort it out when I get back. So we were stuck on a layover airport for four hours and really at no benefit to the fact that we paid for a direct flight. I am just so irritated with this company and so frustrated at their lack of understanding that travel plans are usually not easily adjustable. Save yourself the stress and just pay the little extra to get AT LEAST a notification and proper communication about your flight information.
