Stay away from Travelstart

If I could rate it 0 I would. Folks stay away from travel agencies I mean they are more expensive than the airlines themselves and when it is time to claim On all things that beef up their prices they start telling you about terms and conditions.

So I booked a return local flight via Travelstart only because I could not book with the airline in question directly. Their system had issues with my bank card which is now resolved, so I had to resort to the flight agency because I did not have a choice. I went for travel start. My flight was a same day return flight, leaving very early so I can attend my meeting and then come back in the evening. Now at the airport, we are told the weather is foggy so we can depart, postponing the next update up to a point where now I see with the upcoming update it will be pointless for me to fly because I will miss my meeting. Now normally this is simple when you booked with the airline, you just go to their ticketing and they simply reschedule you if you desire to be rescheduled. I call travel start and they tell me because I have checked in, I need to go to the airline to uncheck me in, which I did. Then I’m told I’ll have to pay a difference fee for rescheduling my flight specifically the the return flight if the flight is not affected by time change. I asked the question but how do I fly back on a same day when I can’t fly in. Mind you I paid an insurance fee for rescheduling then I’m told the terms and conditions of rescheduling 24 hours before and still I would have had to pay the extra charges. So my question’is what is then the point of paying isurance which is about 30% cost of your flight ticket when you are forced to reschedule a date not out of your own doing.

The folks who bought their ticket with the airline had it so easy to reschedule with no extra charges.

Stay away from travel agencies, they are more expensive for reasons not valid. They are good when everything goes well with your flight as planned but if you have an issue, don’t expect them to help you.
