Shocking Service Yet Again

Shocking service yet again from Travelstart. Having booked tickets for an overseas trip, we worked daily for 3 weeks to add our baby to our tickets. Eventually we received assurance from Khaya, Dale & Erik (from Travelstart) to assure us that we would have no issues at the Airport. We arrived early at the airport, only to find that our baby had not been issued a Ticket and we struggled for 2 hours to add the infant. Travelstart emergency line was completely useless. This is the type of service received from Public Sector, and as South Africans we cannot accept this service from the Private Sector as well. It is my duty to inform the public when we receive Shocking Service, to help others choose a better service provider. We also called 15 times to Travelstart and Khaya promised to call us back on every occasion, of course this did not happen. Eventually I paid again for the infants ticket and ran to the plane minutes before departure, what a grievance, Travelstart need to take responsibility for this. The grievance could've easily been prevented, if someone actually cared, but the Private Sector has learnt from the Public Sector, so they don't give a damn. Thanks Khaya , Dale & Erik for making travelling with kids, even more difficult!

Dear Yisroel Meir,

We regret to hear about your unpleasant experience at the airport regarding Arayeh’s ticket.

As a mother, I can completely relate to the frustrations and unnecessary stress this has caused you and your family, especially before your departure on an international flight.

I would like to bring the sequence of events to your attention regarding the issuance of her ticket.

An email was sent to you on 8th of September by our direct sales consultant which included two ticket confirmations. The first was for your original booking and the second attachment had Arayeh’s ticket. Please advise if this information was given to the check-in staff as we can see that her ticket still shows unused.

As per your request we contacted the airline last week to ensure that all tickets were visible in their system, including Arayeh’s ticket and have confirmation thereof, which we will gladly forward to you.

Due to your concerns we stressed the importance of Arayeh’s ticket to the airline and they advised they would convey this information to their check-in manager on the day of travel.

What we will do from our side, is to apply for a refund Arayeh’s unused ticket. In order for us to start this process, we require a copy of the new ticket purchased. Please forward this to us at your earliest convenience to ***.

We do apologize on behalf of the airline concerned for the unpleasant experience you had to endure.

With kind regards,
***nor at Travelstart
