****med by Travelstart
Travelstart have ****med me! I booked a return ticket from Johannesburg to Cape Town (Reference no ZA***1). It did not go through the 1st time so I used a different card. It was processed the 2nd time and I received written confirmation. At the airport, the airline 'Lift' had no record of my ticket. I tried to call Travelstart but they only have an emergency email facility and no number to call them. There was no response from their emergency email. My return ticket was intact but no record of my flight down, yet it was purchased on the same transaction. I had to buy an expensive ticket there and then. Travelstart owe me for the difference and refuse to pay. They say they only charged for my ticket back despite giving me written confirmation of a return ticket. What sort of ridiculous travel company confirms my ticked down on Saturday and its ****, but my ticket back on Sunday, the next day is legit. How does that work? How am I supposed to get there to be able to use my ticket back? I am taking this up with the CPA and notifying social media. Travelstart could not even find any record of my trip and told me they could only help me if I could give them my reference number. Once I provided it they came back and blamed me for not checking my bank account and they take no responsibility for sending me a **** confirmation. The airline attendant told me that this happens frequently with Travelstart. Unbelievable. The public need to know the risks of using Travelstart
Thank you for taking my call.
I am very sorry that you had received this experience when booking with Travelstart.
The issuance of the Lift flight is currently an problem and I have addressed this yesterday afternoon with the tech team as the airline collects the funds automatically and then issues the booking, where as Lift automated payment collection failed.
There has been no charge for the Lift flight and when this was picked up we had sent an email on 25 February to advise that the Lift booking failed and a new booking would have to be created for the outward flight only as the airline removed their flight from the hold we had. I will forward this email should you have not received it and provide screenshots that it had been sent.
You have advised that emails to the emergency email address was responded to and I have requested this information but as my call time was inconvenient, we were not able to obtain the email address.
I will be sending an email from the customer relations email address to your email with further feedback and information regarding your booking.
I wish you a good day further.
Kind Regards,
Melissa
