RIDICULOUS CANCELLATION
We are so disappointed in Travelstart! My boyfriend & i booked a multi city ticket months ago for our dec holiday to the USA. (JHB-VANCOUVER-SAN FRAN-NYC-JHB). We were originally meeting family in vancouver, of which they've since decided to stay & meet in Toronto. My family member was so kind to book us additional internal flights so that we wouldn't have to re-route our trip. To save us time she booked us a flight straight to San Fran from Toronto, meaning we wont have to fly back to Van to catch our original flight to San Fran (saving us time). We have since enquired with Travelstart to just cancel that little stretch of flight- we dont expect, or even want any refund whatsoever, we just merely want to cancel that flight, as we've heard if we just dont pitch for the flight it puts the rest of our connecting flights in jeopardy. <br> Travelstart now want us to pay an ADDITIONAL R31000 just to cancel that stretch! I cannot comprehend paying such an amount to cancel 1 flight, when all together the whole trip cost R40000 to begin with, for 2 ppl! Travelstart would be able to sell that flight to someone else & make more money! No help, just sucking clients dry of money. Very disappointed
Thank you for taking my call.
I do regret that we were not able to offer a more cost effective quote. As explained, the airlines consider the dropping of a sector to be a reroute so we have to quote on the applicable reroute availibity. Additionally, in this case the original ticket was not reroutable meaning we would first have to upgrade to a fare that can be rerouted before doing the reroute.
I hope that our conversation provided clarity on the reasons why.
