Refund promised, Now they passing the buck!
I booked A ticket through Travel start for a return ticket to Capetown on skywise. Skywise was shut down in December. on the 7th of December Travelstart sent me an email stating that they have submitted my ticket for a refund and that it will take 4-6 weeks. meaning i should get the refund in week 2 of 2016. I then received an email on the 6th of January informing me again that they have submitted my ticket for refund again. straight away i emailed Travelstart on [Email Removed] asking for an explanation as I can not be expected to wait a further 4-6 weeks. I never got a response so today I called and was conveniently told that I skywise is going to do refunds on the cash payments but card payments must be disputed at the bank! This is totally unacceptable, I did not deal with skywise I dealt with Travelstart! If they can take the commission for booking tickets they need to be responsible for the issues when they arrive!!! I expect a call to inform me how Travel start is going to sort this out!
My apologies for the delay in the refund being processed.
Skywise in currently just grounded and not liquidated. Due to the grounding they have received an influx of refund requests from all points of sale that had dealings with them, including from direct clients.
This influx has resulted in a backlog in the refund process. Travelstart is therefore communicating with them on a weekly basis to get the list of refunds already processed so that we can pass this information on to our mutual clients.
I apologise for the delay but can assure you that Travelstart is doing everything in our power to escalate the refunds we sent through to Skywise to be processed.
Kind regards,
