Hi Elise
I have listened to the call again and once again the agent had asked your mother at the end of the call, if she would like to go ahead with changes and your mother advised no.
She had advised she would first discuss the options with you. I do agree,as from what I can see no email / options was sent, however knowing the flight was departing the next day a follow up call could have been made.
We regretfully cannot rebook on the Mango flight, however changes can still be done on the return and all changes needs to be completed before the original flight departs.
