NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR A STRANDED PASSENGER

Travel Start refuses to take responsibility for the inconvenience caused to my daughter who is currently stranded around OR Tambo International Airport. We changed my daughter’s date of departure from 18 to 20 December 2023 due to delayed visa issuance. We paid the quoted amount for this change. However, the airline (Kenya Airways) denied her check-in (Booking Reference GO***0). The airline said that Travel start did not change the status in the system. Under these circumstances, our daughter had to take a cab and book herself in a hotel close to the airport. Now she has checked out and there is no progress on my daughter’s case and Travel Start won’t make interim arrangements while she is waiting for the company to sort out the problem. Travel Start is leaving the problem of our stranded daughter on our hands while we have paid our dues to them. I am making very expensive phone calls from Germany to South Africa due to this situation at the same time, I have to pay for hotel for a stranded passenger when it’s Travel Start’s fault that my daughter is stuck at the airport.
