Never look a gift horse in the mouth - you might be disappointed!

In March I had a horrible experience in April due to Travelstart inefficiency, which left me stranded at the Cape Town International. They offered to reimburse the money spent on an air ticket by using this on a future flight. However, when I tried to book a flight from Oliver Thambo to King Shaka over the past weekend, I was told Oh so sorry but British Airways is only resuming flights at the end of August. My point is: the offer Travelstart so kindly offered is valid until April 2022. Should Travelstart not extend the offer for the time that British Airways did not operate?

Hi Emily,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I have tried to call you to no avail.

Please note that I have checked the airline directive and BA Comair has already extended their validity until 30 April 2023, as these are unsure times and the airline cannot always guarantee that there won't be a disruption.  I have check for the option of a refund, however the flight on 30 March was still operational according to BA and thus only a refund of R 134.38 was offered.

Please note as advised above you can rebook until 30 April 2023.

Kind Regards,
Melissa

Changing a flight date without informing me, cost me: Uber, hotel payment, booking a new flight, a pizza, Uber early morning to airport, paying one day extra on King Shaka Airport for storing my car, paying one day extra at the kennels housing my animals and Travelstart offers me R139 in damages because the flight did take place and I did not turn up! "there's a hole n the bucket dear Henry, dear Henry"......................

Sorry! not even R139, but R134.38 in damages. This would make a cat laugh.

Hi Emily,

Thank you for your reply and sharing your concerns. I have called however there is no answer and unable to leave a voice message.

We try our best to make travel simple and ensure that our customers are satisfied.

With our industry there are various factors that may affect flight time changes, which the airlines & travel agent have no control over. This could be weather related, international airspace agreements, statistical data or technical issues, Covid etc

Airlines therefore cannot guarantee their timetables. However looking at you BA return flight on the reference number you provided ending in 381 there was no Schedule Change made.

If you have any further queries please welcome to email feedback @ travelstart . com with your query and reference number and we will respond.

Kind Regards,

Marcelle
