Just absolutely no customer service!

Since complaining on Hellopeter is the only way to get any form of reaction from Travelstart I have to yet again complain publicly. I have a flight ticket to Antarctica that due to a date change of the Antarctica marathon I could not use in March 2022. All I need help with is someone to answer me: If the ticket is valid until May 2023, why can I not just change my flight tickets to March 2023? I did pay extra fro a date change. If I cancel this ticket I only get about R2000 back which is ****************.

Hi  Henriette,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I have tried to call to no avail.

Please note I have checked the booking and can see that the refund quote was sent incorrectly regarding the ticket validity, as per the airline the refund has to be processed by 29 May 2022 and we have been instructed to follow their ticket conditions. Please see below revert from the airline:
LHG Agent Support rep**** 3 days ago (Fri, 1 Apr 2022 at 7:21 PM) To:"Travelstart Help" Dear Anele, Thank you for your request regarding validity. Fully open tickets are valid for 1year from the date of ticket issuance. Re-booking and reissuance must occur within ticket validity. We reviewed this reservation and the passenger was a no show on LH573/11MAR. Therefore, the ticket is only eligible for refund according to fare rules. Please advise if the passenger would like to re-book? If they would like to then we can issue a waiver to allow the re-booking, however; any fare or tax difference applies. We hope this clarifies and we remain available should you have any further queries. Have a pleasant day further. Best Regards, Seini Vakasilimi Travel Agency Support ZA Lufthansa Group Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS | Brussels Airlines   I have emailed the airline again to verify the rebooking option for 2023 and once they revert I will provide further information.

Kind Regards,
Melissa

First of all, to say you contacted us to no avail is not really true. You tried only ONCE and yes unfortunately I could not answer that specific call.
The airline says we were a no show. We tried since October 2021 to re book these tickets, with you stating every time that there was no available flights.
In the airline's reply they say they will allow us to rebook, understandable with fair differences. I am sure this will be better than the R2000 offered as a refund. I do still need to go to Antarctica in January 2023. Can I rebook rather than taking the refund?
