Holding pregnancy against me
I am a pregnant mommy of one and recently booked tickets with British Airways through travelstart for my family. After a recent visit at the doctor, he advised that I should not be flying anywhere until after the baby was born, as it might pose is risk to myself and the baby. After discussions with travelstart I was advised that if I present a letter from the doctor stating said fact, they would negotiate with British Airways in order to waive the massive penalty fee and try for a full refund on my tickets. I sent the doctors letter through and now they claim that they need actual hospitalisation forms in order to apply for a full refund. Obviously I cannot provide these as I have not been hospitalised. I spoke to British Airways representatives and they said that British Airways does not need hospitalisation forms in order to give a full refund, but because I booked through travelstart they can not give me the refund directly, it needs to go through travelstart. I am so tired of this mess! It is after all not my fault that I can not fly and I am getting conflicting information left and right. I do not think it is right to penalise me for something I do not have control over. Will never use travelstart again.
Dear Tania,
I believe that you have spoken to one of our consultants regarding the refund. You were requested to please submit medical documents, so that we could apply to the airline for a higher refund.
Please forward this information to us at your earliest convenience.
With thanks and kind regards,
