Extremely Bad Service Provider
I have used travelstart for almost all of my travels over the last 5 years and was usually quite satisfied, however they are no longer a good service provider. I am currently trying to have a refund processed and they effectively charging me for the entire cost of the flight, once the process is completed I will update this review with the details but based on the progress so far, I am doubtful of a fair ending on my part. They take weeks to respond and make it very hard to have an actual conversation with a competent person on their side. They also only cancelled my ticket after the flight had taken place, which would have prevented the airline from selling off my seat as well.
The service is extremely sub-par, I see multiple similar complaints as well, even though this would negatively impact all the employees of Travelstart, I really hope we can rid the industry of such poor service providers and I encourage all other customers with similar experiences reading these reviews to post their experiences as well, the industry is challenged at the moment and only the deserving should be receiving the much needed business not entities such as Travelstart. Travelling is usually meant to be a happy, seamless activity.

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I have checked the booking and can see that the team has received the request to requote the cancellation as we had quoted as per the airline directives previously.
Please keep an eye on your emails for further correspondence and revert as instructed.
You may forward any concerns you have to feedback @ travelstart . com

Thank you for your response, I appreciate the attempt.
It is sad however, that you / your PR team is more responsive than your operational team, as I have yet to receive confirmation of what you make reference to, it could be that your statement above is false or no one deemed it important to let me know that it is indeed, being looked at again, either one is a poor reflection unfortunately.
I will however ensure that this post if updated correctly to reflect any movements both positive and negative and I hope that all these responses and reviews, has directly impacted your business either negatively or positively respectively, prompting some change to whatever it is you are so poorly / *********ly doing to your customers, as an entity.
Kind Regards

Good Day,
I raised a specific issue in my last query and you take over month to respond only to tell me the same thing as previously said, i.e that your refund calculation is correct.
I have asked why you took so long to process the cancellation in the first place? Why was i not given my cancellation refund quote prior to the actual flight so i can make an informed decision on whether to move or my ticket or cancel? Why do you confirm a 48 hour response time but take months to respond? Why do you send emails from "no-reply" accounts when you handling a specific case? Why do you not care about your public perception? Have you seen your recent online ratings, is it really that hard for you guys to do the right thing?
Please do not send me an automated response again, I understand the refund calculation is correct, answer my specific questions above?
And i will reiterate my position on this, I cancelled my flight due with more than 2 weeks notice of the actual flight, I then only received confirmation from you guys on my refund a month after the actual flight? Why did you not stick to your confirmed response times and why do you not feel obligated to firstly respond to my issue and secondly to acknowledge that if had processed my refund in time, I would have the option to move my ticket, rather than cancelling in an attempt to minimize my loss?
Regards.

Just an update on this;
Till this date I have not received phone call or personalized email to discuss this matter and the issue has not been resolved. I don't think it will be resolved, however I would just like to notify all customers to avoid using them if possible.
I will summarize my issue very briefly for a quick read;
I had booked a flight through #travelstart from Dublin to Toronto, to depart mid december 2021. We then experienced that short covid spike and Canada had banned travel for South Africans. I then requested a cancellation for the flight through Travel start, which was roughly about 2,5 weeks before the departure date. Travel start had only processed the cancellation with the Airline after the departure date, which means that the airline saw this as a non show and charged me the full price. Travel start have relieved themselves from all responsibility by simply using automated responses to mails and a run around when you call.
My second issue here is that, if they could not process the cancellation without me losing money, a simple message notifying me that I would be better off moving the flight as opposed to cancelling and losing all my money, but again the only addressed the matter after the flight had departed.
The amount of money lost here is circa R11,000.
