Useless booking service and poor customer service

I bought a bus ticket from Eastern Cape to Mthatha on a Translux bus using Computicket via the internet. I was given a reference number from Computicket to use when acquiring the bus ticket. I arrived at the Windmill, pickup point at 22:00. The bus was 20 minutes late, I tried to get on the bus and I was told that my reference number was incorrect. I informed them that I booked via Computicket and I had a reference number given by Computicket, they told me that the reference number did not correspond with any bookings they had and that my name was not on their list and I was rudely told to get off the bus. I even tried to furnish my proof of payment in the form of my bank notification sms I had received, when the transaction was completed. Bearing in mind that this incident happened in the evening, no alternative method of transport was possible. When I called the Translux call centre, they told me that the reference given by Computicket was not correct. What is the point of selling tickets via Computicket if they cannot then verify purchases made via Computicket? Such an incredible inconvenience and I am yet to even receive an apology or refund for their error.
