City to city pretoria Ticket sales attendant

I was very disappointed and insulted by the tickets sales attendant at bosman ticket center this morning on the 18th January 2020 around 6:40 am in the morning. I was parchasing a ticket from pretoria to thohoyandou for my mother in law . Were i was told that the ticket is R230 and i paid with R300 and i was told that i wont get my change because i should have brought and exact amount for the ticket fare... so i was told to live my change or to live without buying the ticket and go use alternative transport. I would like to know if that is part of the city to city rule or the lady who was working there she was just giving me some rude attitude or what.
