Bus stuck in the middle of no where for 10 hours

Bus 1302 from P.E to Pretoria ran into some difficult just outside Aliwal North at 00:45. The drivers did not communicate this to us untill such time we started asking questions. The drivers refused to communicate in english and left some of us in the dark, having to enquire from other passengers as to what the problem was.

One of the driver's told us that a mechanic was enroute (from an unknown location) to fix the problem.

At round about 05:00 am we were told a bus was despatched from Pretoria. I phoned the Pretoria office twice and in both instances the phone was dropped in my ear. I emailed customer care and the email kept bouncing back. All the numbers I phoned just rang.

We were stranded in the middle of no where without flashing emergency lights as the bus couldn't stay on due to the engine fault, the toilet was out of order as the engine fault also affected the toilet operation.

There were babies and old people also on the bus who had difficulty sitting for such a long time. We later became dehydrated as there was no shops nearby to buy water. Our phone batteries went flat as the trip was longer than planned and no one had batteries to last that long. There were ****roaches running all over the floor and on the windows etc, we could not sleep properly as the ****roaches started biting us.

The bus sent to us arrived 10 hours later at 11:00am.

When we arrived at Pretoria we went to the Translux Pretoria office, the lady who helped us told us that we should call customer care. When I phoned customer care we were given a different number, this number never picked up their phones.

No apology was given to us for spending more than 24 hours on the road, due to no fault of ours.
