TOYOTA's TERRIBLE AFTER SALES SERVICE

I am convinced that Lexus and Toyota have no idea what service and efficiency are about even with its JIT system which clear does not work.

More than a month and a half ago I sent my Lexus IS300h 2021 in for repairs for a minor dent however to my surprise, there was a part that had to be ordered from Japan and it would take +21 days or so for it to be delivered to SA. Therefore, a minor dent is taking about 2 months for fix.

This is not the only incident, in 2019 my wife's RAV4 VX 2.2D 2017 took almost 6 months to fix following another routine fairly minor accident. Again there was a part that took about 3 months to procure from Japan. To the extent that this was an inconvenience, Toyota Randburg provided a courtesy car (Toyota Corolla) for about 30 days (out of the +5 month period) however it was not a smooth gesture for them. When the repairs to the RAV4 were finally completed, my wife was harassed to return the courtesy vehicle as if she had ****** it.

The insurer at the time provided a courtesy car for 60 days as opposed to its usual 30 days and Toyota Randburg offered one for 30 days and so for the remainder of the time +/- 80 days we had the inconvenience of making alternate arrangements.

How Lexus / Toyota can consider these long time frame to satisfy delivery of parts as normal and reasonable defeats logic and with no care or support offered to the client to bridge the gap is shocking.

I moved from the a German manufacturer to Toyota because of the notion of reliability and trouble free ownership, however with the two afore-mentioned experiences, my journey has been very abrupt with Toyota and Lexus. Literally, the only consolation is that book value of the two cars holds well.
