Toyota Theft issue unaddressed
Ive owned Toyota vehicles as far back as late 1990 and Toyota is currently one of my brands of choice. Ive owned multiple Toyota and have made buy decision in companies that were significant Toyota customers . But recently an attempt was made to ***** my Toyota which i realize is a very common occurrence and not Toyota SA responsibility. However i also discovered that the hooter is used as a audible alarm for a theft warning and Toyota place the hooter with zero protection in a location a child could disable the alarm and fuse the alarm system, which is exactly what happened in my case. For a brand that i thought was customer oriented and prides it service I have to ask myself how this is possible . Especially considering this is a old problem dating back years , widely criticized by Toyota customers in social media who have encountered the same issue with zero response from Toyota . The vehicle is manufactured in South Africa and considering the cost of the vehicle id have expected a basic solution for this issue )(I was able to find multiple after market solutions that are really simple) . I am seriously considering personally to never ever purchasing any Toyota products again . I understand the financial impact of this decision but alternative products are available that limit the loss and eliminate the risk the ownership a Toyota brings . I also find it incredible that a brand such as Toyota SA had no e mail method to communicate with it on its web page and only allows complaints against dealers on the website. Andrew Kirby having had dealings with you in the past Im not sure if you aware of this impersonal approach from the historically peoples brand but regardless you may want to address and it would not be necessary for customers to use this avenue of communication with your company , the message Toyota is sending is on no care for its customers in my view as a consumer of your products.I want to make it clear i expect nothing from Toyota SA but to consider this message and to take action .I understand you addressing the issue and you wont publicly confirm the issue , but unfortunately social media has done this for you as have insurance companies .Its time to address the issue like you have done in the past.
