Toyota South Africa Motors - " LET'S NOT GO PLACES " ....

I had a driver rear-end me in my Toyota Starlet Cross early April 2025 (purchased September 2024 ). Today is 25 July 2025 and the approved panel beater is still awaiting parts (one would think a rear bumper would be available at least). Parts approval by insurer and assessor was on 30 April 2025. I received a letter from SMG Cresta ( dated 17 June 2025 ) where some parts would only be available on 11 October 2025 ( i.e. approximately 5.5 months for parts ). Naturally I was unhappy and contacted TSAM - firstly by e-mail ( please don't hold your breath as you will not be answered, but you can expect an automated reply ), secondly via telephone ( they pick-up sometimes). Fancy apologies ( way too many ) and promises to speed up the process. Received a call from SMG Cresta on 03.07.2025 ( already 2 months down the line from insurer approval ) to assure me that all parts will be available on 18 July 2025. The gentleman said it's been an issue with Toyota parts as he has a customer waiting for almost 3 months for a door on his CH-R ), and it may be the Suzuki partnership that is causing the parts delay. It is cosmetic damage - bumper etc. and we all know Suzuki and Toyota is distinguished by the cosmetic differences ...now SMG Toyota Cresta also knows. I contacted SMG Toyota Cresta on 21 July 2025. Gentleman in the back ground kept on shouting that parts wil be delivered 22 July 2025. Parts were delivered to an incorrect panel beater and must be re-ordered ( I had to smile ). After explaining to the gentleman to tell me what parts they are referring to as they didn't even ask my registration or VIN number ... it is not a Toyota Hilux by the way... I phoned again later in the day to speak to the gentleman and I am still waiting for the call back. I sent enquiries via the Toyota App ...oh my goodness ( oops once again on all counts ).

My question to TSAM - why would you launch vehicles without the necessary parts back-up? ( I am still waiting for this answer too )

" Everything keeps going right, Toyota". - ( Giving away my age here ) - Well, I got news for you .... " Lead the way " ... into an era where no parts are available? " Let's go places " - difficult without a vehicle.....

It is disappointing, TSAM. ( One star is too much by the way ).
