Toyota Shocking Quality, no Support!
I purchased a brand new Toyota Aygo in August 2016, only to have to replace my front brake pads and disks in September 2017 (13 months) at 30 000 km (no warning given to me when I handed my vehicle in to Monument Toyota for its 30 000 km service)? only to find 2 days after having to bring my car in, I had to replace the front discs and brakes at a "Discounted" R5 800 . I have to now AGAIN on my 45 000 km service be informed again I have to skim the same front disks and replace the brake pads again at R2 400!!
We have been loyal supporters of Toyota, starting with Toyota Conquest, Toyota Condor, Toyota Hilux, 2 x Fortuners, never had to replace brake pads so soon and disks for that matter, the Toyota Aygo a different story!
Everyone I have spoken to are just as shocked. I am not a vehicle expert so requested some advice and opinions and all of the people I have spoken to say that this is very unusual and some even say "impossible".
When speaking to Monument Toyota Branch after finding out about the brakes , was referred to Toyota SA, phoned them and referred back to Monument Toyota and they offered a discount for the work!
I have skimmed the disks and put in new Brake Pads at R1 500 with Mr Mechanic, just on principle I will not support Toyota.
Mr Mechanic were excellent and they made me feel important, like a paying customer should always feel. Are cars today made with such lack of quality that they are made not to last? Toyota! a very well know brand? The support you also get also lacking. The consumer loses and Toyota keep smiling all the way.
Don't expect anything from Toyota, you will then not be disappointed!
Not a Toyota fan.
