TOYOTA SA PLEASE INVESTIGATE!
Good day,
I took my car in for service at Toyota Randfontein on the 1st March 2018 and did not notice anything out of place, by the time i fetched my car after they washed it i discovered that the paint at the front sides of my car such as my bonnet etc was pealing, I alerted the agent and she claimed my car came in like that, and said maybe i did not notice because the car was dirty, I told her that my car was not that dirty for me to not notice such visible pealing, i was in a rush to work and left. A few days later i received a courtesy call from Toyota wanting to know if i was happy with the service of my car and i narrated the story to the agent, she apologized and said the other agent informed her about it but she claims that the car came in like that.
On the 15th of March 2018 i went back to Toyota Randfontein and spoke to the same agent requesting a video footage of the day my car came in so that i can see if indeed my car came in like that, she then called the floor manager who was very rude but after exchanging some words he said he will look for the footage but he cant promise me i will have it soon probably later on in the day so its up to me if i can wait for it or not, i told him i will wait and sat down. He then said he is going to call the service manager, the service manager came and he took me to his office with the floor manager and they said the video footage is not available as their video footage expires after 14 days, according to my calculations the 15th was the 14th day but they insisted its not available.
They then said that they can see that my car has been worked on before that i should take my car back to the panel beaters who worked on my car that they probably used inferior paint and that is why the car paint is pealing.
On the 16th March 2018 i went to FR Panelbeaters which is a Toyota Approved Panelbeater I was referred to when I had an accident in 2015 and the front of my car was damaged, they fixed and sprayed the front part of my car and gave me a lifetime guarantee. When i arrived there i asked the agent to check the car and he said said that the pealing is not caused by their paint as they are Toyota approved and use quality paint, I informed him of Toyota Randfontein accusations and he came up with different theories of what must have caused it and one of them was that while Toyota Randfontein was servicing my car they must have accidentally poured brake fluid on my car as brake fluid does that once left on the car for some minutes and then wiped off. He also said how come the car is only pealing now after they serviced it since 2015 the car has not been pealing when they sprayed it. He said Toyota Randfontein should put their accusations of the Panelbeaters using low quality paint on my car in writing and they will gladly take it up with Toyota SA as they can prove that they used the right paint.
Either way Toyota is at fault i don't understand why they can not show me the footage to prove its not them, even if its the Panelbeaters Paint as they claim why would Toyota approve a Panelbeater that is using inferior products?
I sent follow up emails to both FR Panelbeater and and Toyota Randfontein requesting feedback after they heard each others accusations, FR Panelbeaters has not rep**** my email, Toyota Randfontein rep**** still sticking to the story that the video footage is not available and that they wont take responsibility, they also said how come my car is the only one that was damaged on the day out of all the cars they service.
I am not happy at all with Toyota and i refuse to take responsibility of something caused by them no matter which angle you look at it.
