Toyota RAV 4 Roof Leakage

My parents purchased a RAV 4 2019 Model in 2019. The roof of the vehicle is leaking. The vehicle reaks and is stuffy. They reported this to the Musina Toyota and their vehicle was taken in for repairs. In December 2020 they had a meeting with the manager and he advised that their only options were that they hand over the vehicle for repairs again or purchase the new 2021 model and that he would forego his commission. My mother is going on pension in 4 years and she intended to have finished paying towards the finance. Now she has to consider purchasing a new vehicle which will increase the period of a loan repayment. The solution would lead them to more debt. We tried complaining directly to the head office but did not get any joy there. In the past few weeks there has been heavy rains in SA and my parents could not enjoy their vehicle as they could not drive it due to it pouring while the drive.

An exctract from my parents email to the manager "We strongly feel unhappy about the fact Toyota South Africa should take responsibility of their default product and replace it. This is the second time that the vehicle is having the same problems. As a family we are not enjoying its confort anymore having placed all our trust on the brand for years.

May you please engage with the relevant structures and replace with similar or better unit without impacting on our financials negatively.

We are already in the rainy season with forecasted rains in the near future. We would like to go on holiday with our grandchild.

It is therefore urgent that the matter receives the urgent attention that it deserves.

We have confidence in the brand that the quality of both customer service satisfaction and quality product delivery be prioritised on this matter."

We are really unhappy.
