Toyota - Inferior workmanship

I phoned Market Toyota on Tuesday 16 Aug, to inform them that my Volume button situated on my steering wheel has come off. They said that I should bring it in for an inspection. They informed me that the button is under warranty, but I need to bring my car in to ensure that there is no negligence. I then took my Toyota Fortuner in on Wednesday 17 Aug for the inspection. They asked for the button, and I said that I don’t know where it is. The button must have fallen out of the car when I opened the door, because I looked for it everywhere and could not find it. They said that based on the fact that I cannot find the button it is not under warranty.

I am so upset, I bought this car brand new August 2014, I have driven a car for the last 20 years and never in my life had a button fallen off my car. How can the button just fall off a steering wheel…especially a 4X4, made for tough terrain etc.? I cannot believe that the interior quality of the workmanship of the car, is so inferior. This is totally unacceptable that a button can fall off the steering wheel of a R ********** car!!!!!!
