Toyota failing to fix my 2016 Toyota fortuner making a loud squicky sound when reversing since the second car service in Gezina. i have taken it to the gezina branch about 5 times and no progress. The car is still under warranty.

below is an email i sent to the head office on the 26th of august 2017 after i felt tired and fedup with the service i am getting from the vehicle. i sent this email to ********** even today as i write this complaint i haven't received any response from them. this morning in dropped my car at Pretoria North branch for the same problem. And i am told i might have to pay for them to check what is wrong with my car which is their brand. how do i pay for such whereas this car seems to have a manufacturing issues. one of my friend just told me his father in law's fortuner bought same time with mine is also doing the same thing.

I am writing this email as my last hope for the problem I am having with the 2016 Toyota Fortuner I have. The car is giving me problems and it started after the second service which I did in Gezina branch. The first service was in Pretoria north where the vehicle was bought. I changed to the Gezina branch because its closer to my work place. Little did I know it was going to change my perception about Toyota. I have taken my car to the Gezina branch so many times but the problem can’t be fixed. This car makes a loud squeaky sound when reversing and its embarrassing especially because it’s a new car.

After so many visits and nothing changing I was told to record the sound its making. Can you believe that? I reversed and my husband recorded the sound from outside. The sound was very clear. I was told to send it to one of the guys there which I did. And was told it will be sent to the head office. I had to wait for a communication from them, until I went there and asked about the progress. And I was told the head of the technicians from head office will come and check the vehicle. The day of the appointment I was told my car didn’t make any sound. I was even asked if I have any pets at home or if birds fly over my house. It only imp**** they didn’t believe me when I said it makes sounds. One of the technicians there heard the sound one day after I took it there, and it means they don’t believe him either.

I just took it for service last week. The guy who was servicing it confirmed that it does make noise when reversing. I am fed-up, tired and disappointed with the whole Toyota experience. My late father used to praise Toyota and drove Toyota’s only. If he was still alive I would tell him Toyota is not the same as the ones he drove then. I would tell him my experience with Toyota is a nightmare. Where I am working they know that since I moved from VW cars I have been going In and out of Toyota in Gezina.
