Toyota Corolla Cross recall

My Toyota Corolla Cross was serviced on 26 August 2026, at Mosselbaai Toyota, at which time I was informed that recall work was required on the vehicle.

Following the service, I was advised that the parts required to complete the recall were on back order. It is now 16 September 2026, almost three weeks later, and after following up again yesterday, I was informed that the parts are still unavailable, with no indication of when they will arrive.

I find this extremely disappointing and unacceptable from Toyota South Africa. This is not a routine repair or a part that I have chosen to replace — it is an official Toyota recall. I would therefore expect Toyota to ensure that the necessary parts are available within a reasonable timeframe to carry out the required recall work.

What concerns me further is the lack of a clear timeframe. I am left driving a vehicle with an outstanding recall, without knowing when it will be resolved.

I would appreciate Toyota South Africa taking ownership of this matter and providing a firm indication of when the required parts will be available and the recall work completed. I would also like confirmation as to whether Toyota considers the vehicle safe to continue driving while the recall remains outstanding.
