Think TWICE before buying the new Toyotas with media system

I recently purchased a Toyota Corolla Hatch. Besides the car itself, The features I was interested in was the navigation, so I didnt have to use my phone for navigation, handsfree (bluetooth) so I didnt have to talk on a cellphone while driving, and other features. After doing research on this car, I was totally unaware that all the features work overseas, but in South Africa, most of the features DO NOT WORK! So I paid an exhorbitant price for a vehicle that most of the features on the media centre, DOES NOT WORK!! Supposed to be able to ADD APPS....cant do that....DOESNT WORK. Bluetooth only works intermittently.

So after communicating with Toyota dealers, they said Toyota wasnt interested. Toyota phoned me and basically told me the same thing, just in more polite words. Oh they also said they never advertised that the media player/navigation would be functional....can you believe it! Yet their advertising material shows that there are app functions and music functions and navigation functions etc...but nothing works!

Toyota SA, I WANT MY MONIES WORTH, which I am not getting. I want the system to work the way it was meant to work! How can you possibly sell a vehicle with an upmarket non-functional system and then shirk your responsibility like you have nothing to do with it????

I have always driven Toyotas, all my life and never been disappointed, but this time, I am horrifically disappointed. You are letting your customers down in a major way. Had I known this before I purchased the car, I would have opted for another make and not Toyota! You can only abuse my loyalty to the brand so much.
