********** by the Wilropark branch (Toyota)

I dreaded going back to Toyota yesterday, because of the disappointing experience I had servicing my car with them. To make matters worse I was assigned (once again) to Erica Peens who proceeded to assist me by rudely barking "what is the problem now?" I explained that my car was making a knocking sound after it came back from the service they had done, and asked if they could replace a fused globe in my headlight (which wasn't picked up in the service). After waiting 2 hours they couldn't find the source of the problem they created on my car and slapped me with a R433 bill for changing the globe (exorbitant labour fees making up most of the invoice). I heard my car's alarm going off continuously before Erica finally decided to give back my keys 10 minutes later.

Something felt off about the invoice, so I decided to call another Toyota branch to find out the price of changing a globe. They confirmed that they don't charge labour fees (on things like replacing light bulbs) and quoted me less than half the price for the globe.

After waiting half a day for a lift back to my offices, being presented with an overinflated invoice on a long list of repairs and dealing with their unpleasant service consultant, it was a breath of fresh air getting a lift with a kind gentlemen who drove me back to my offices - so I decided to give them a decent rating.

In light of yesterday’s revelations I will not only need to have my car reserviced to get a realistic costing for any repairs, but I now need to fix a problem that was never there before they tampered with it.

In future, I'd rather drive out of my way to Randburg and have my car serviced by professionals who understand the value of good service.
