RAV 4 Oil consumption

Bought new shape 2014 Rav 2,2D GX from Rivonia Toyota. After approx. 12000km oil warning light came on. Check dipstick and no oil on dipstick level. Notified Rivonia and took car to them. They changed oil and find nothing wrong. At about 19000km I checked level and again oil issue. I notified them and they gave a check sheet to me to fill in on certain km's which they also checked. They then acknowledge that there was a problem. They sent to TOYOTA SA to resolve. Result is ,head office(Faheem Flashman) sent me a letter stating and listen now TOYOTA OWNERS(\IT IS NORMAL FOR A DIESEL TO USE 1L OF OIL EVERY 1000KM\")i.e. my RAV can use 3 x 5l cans of oils every service interval. Biggest Bull!! Asked that they replace the car as I bought a new one and was not interested in engine been fixed. They then basically refused and told me to buy a new car and not this model type as it is a problem. I first thought about it but after calculations actually realized, I am losing money galore. I would even accept a new engine. 1.5 years later and nothing done. TOYOTA, I AM OWNER OF 4 OF YOUR BRANDS, BUT THIS IS NOT ON. Toyota still don't want to even replace with a new sub assembly engine.
